You can use EonStor GS, the storage system, as a Docker proxy. All Docker images acquired from Docker registry can be cached to the storage system, so that the image can be directly acquired from the cache. This reduces dependence on the external network and greatly improves the efficiency when you are deploying an application.

To use GS as a Docker proxy, install the Docker and Docker Proxy applications on GS to enable this function.

Note:

When using GS system as a Docker Proxy, install the Docker application as well.

Procedure

1. Go to EonOne for GS > Settings > Applications > Repository.
2. Find the application Docker and click its icon.
3. Go to the application information. Click Install.
4. Select a file-level volume for Docker data. If you switch to another volume, this action terminates services running on the previous volume.
   To create a volume for use, click the plus icon and follow the onscreen instructions.

   Note:

   You can only create and mount a volume for Docker here.

5. Click OK to save the settings. The status of the application will be displayed as “Installed”.
6. Click Back to go to Repository.
7. Find the application Docker Proxy and click its icon.
8. Go to the application information. Click Install.
9. Check the server port for the Docker proxy. The default is 5000.
10. Specify the server URL.
11. Click OK to save the settings. The status of the application will be displayed as “Installed”.
