Launch Virtual Machines

KS / KS 5000U / KSi 5016U

IEC provides a cloud-native virtualization platform for creating and managing virtual machines in a Kubernetes-based environment. This platform allows users to run virtualized workloads alongside containerized applications while maintaining centralized resource management through the IEC interfaces.

Compared with traditional virtualization environments, IEC provides a more flexible operating model for compute, storage, and networking resources. Users can create and manage virtual machines, upload operating system images, configure storage and network settings, apply node scheduling rules, and perform lifecycle operations such as cloning, pausing, restarting, and migration. This chapter describes how to:

  • Upload an OS image
  • Create and configure a virtual machine
  • Create a Linux virtual machine
  • Create a Windows virtual machine
  • Viewing and Accessing a Virtual Machine
  • Add hot-plug volumes
  • Clone a virtual machine
  • Restart a paused virtual machine
  • Migrate a VMware Windows virtual machine
