IEC supports migration of a VMware Windows VM by importing a VMDK image and creating a new virtual machine from that image.
Overview
The migration process includes the following tasks:
- Export the VMware VM as a VMDK file
- Upload the VMDK image to IEC
- Create a new VM by using the uploaded image
- Access the new VM in IEC
Procedure
- Export VMware VM Image (VMDK)
- Access the VMware management interface.
- Perform a VM backup operation
- select the file format as VMDK.
- Uploading the VMDK Image
- Go to EonKube > Virtualization > Images.
