Managing a Job

KS / KS 5000U / KSi 5008U

Overview

Use the job management functions in Volcano Jobs to control job execution after submission. Depending on the job state and available actions, users can pause, resume, or delete a job.

These actions are useful when a job is no longer needed, is consuming unnecessary resources, or must be stopped for troubleshooting or correction.

Prerequisites

Before managing a job, verify the following:

  • The job has already been submitted.
  • The job appears in the Volcano Jobs list.
  • You have permission to manage the target job.

Procedure

  1. Go to EonKube > to HPC > Volcano Jobs.
  2. Locate the target job in the job list.
  3. Review the current job status.
  4. Click the action menu ⋮ for the target job.
  5. Select the required action.
    • Stop A Job: Click ⋮ > Pause. To temporarily halt a running job to conserve resources (available when the status is "Running" or "Que").
    • Resume a Job: Click ⋮ > Resume to restart a job that is in a paused or pending state (Available when the status is "Paused" or "Pending").
    • Delete a Job: click ⋮ > Delete to remove and completely stop a running job to avoid unnecessary resource waste.
Important!
  • Deleting a job may result in the loss of intermediate execution state or partial results, depending on the application and workflow design.
  • After performing an action, wait for the job status to update and confirm that the requested operation has completed successfully.
